Hello Mighty Jaguars,
I am honored to serve as your school counselor. As the school counselor my role is to provide a guidance curriculum to all students, individual student planning, responsive services, academic achievement, personal/social development and career development to ensure that today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. Students learn about good character which includes the following six pillars (fairness, responsibility, citizenship, trustworthiness, caring, and respectfulness). Services also provided include individual and group counseling.
Bullying is another topic that is discussed daily with all students. Student and staff are aware of the districts policy on bullying. Students recite the Sullivan anti -bullying pledge every morning and each student is required to have an anti- bullying student parent/ guardian agreement on file.
Sullivan Elementary will continue to implement the Positive Intervention Behavior Support system. P.B.I.S. is a comprehensive, 3-tiered approach to implementing positive and consistent student discipline systems in schools. Unlike other approaches to student discipline, P.B.I.S. encourages a positive climate school wide, in all locations and for all students, by focusing systematically on student behavior/expectations. Please review our JAGUAR matrix and become familiar with the expectations of the students at Sullivan Elementary. Students are reminded daily that a Jaguar always R.O.A.R.S (Respect, Organization, Attitude, Responsibility, Safety).
I also serve as the 504 campus coordinator, Gifted and Talented coordinator, and Migrant coordinator. For any additional information or questions, please contact me at 361-6880. Let’s have great year, GO JAGUARS!!!
